International Dating Site Soul2Match Takes a Stand Against Fake Profiles by Allowing Users to Prove ‘They Are Who They Say They Are’ Entirely Online, Without Sharing Their Personal Information

Online dating service Soul2Match today announced that it has selected identity verification company miiCard to combat fraud and help members prove they are real people while keeping their personal details secure. Members can add miiCard verified badges to their profile to demonstrate that they have proven their identity to the same level as a passport, driver’s license or photo ID.

Trust is an increasing concern in the online dating industry. In addition to recent data and profile breaches, there were as many as 200,000 cases of financial fraud through online dating last year in the United Kingdom alone.

Jorn Eiting, Soul2Match CEO, said: “These fraud instances have forced online daters to seek out sites that offer more protection and privacy. miiCard helps us create a high level of trust between members, which is critical when you meet people for the first time online. Soul2Match is the first online dating site to use miiCard identity verification to give members the assurance that a profile is real while keeping their personal information private and protected.”

miiCard allows a Soul2Match member to demonstrate that they have proven their real identity, but keeps their personal information private until they give explicit consent to share.
